Nugbuckets mainline questions

Nugbuckets mainline for largest plant: to get a larger mainline plant I would wait for my plant to grow out 4 nodes then top to 3rd (for my second topping).. correct? Also when should I remove my fan leaves from my 3rd node? They’re large than my hand atm.

The main reason for initially waiting with the first topping is to allow the plant to have an established root system and reduce any stress. For the second topping, you would do it as soon as possible (i.e. the 4th node has grown away from the 3rd for a safe topping) - otherwise you're just wasting time the plant has grown. As for the fan leaves, they power the growth so I only cut them once they are getting in the way - removing the growth tips is the important thing. Good luck whichever way you go.. it's all about building up experience.

Makes sense! It is more about building up a strong root system versus a larger base. I’m still learning here as what I would call my “first real attempt” at growing cannabis and truly appreciate all the help. My plan will be to perform my second topping to the first node on this date. Will keep everyone updated!

Great, thank you for the quick responses. I suppose my question is.. will I benefit from continuing to be patient and let it grow a little longer before performing the second topping. She really hasn’t skipped a beat at the moment and there is sufficient space for me to top the plant again today (6 days since last topping, please see added pics) I have seen both approaches done but being that I am growing 1 NL in a 48”x48”x80” tent I want to make sure I maximize my grow space. I am curious whether creating a larger base will allow for this to happen.. Also to note: I am in the middle of performing a gradual 48-hr flush

Hi there! I did my first grow with the same method and I think you can remove those biggest leaves already! What comes to the second and third topping, you should wait until the plant is growing vigorously (Healed fully from last topping) and then top again and you can chose the node yourself. I would top from the first node 'cos they should be the biggest branches and therefore I believe that it is faster to continue if you leave the first ones.
