I'm using a vivosun vs1000 light. One for each plant. They just sprouted. What height should I keep my light at? On their website it says 24 inches but I'm not sure if that's for that particular light or not. Just looking to see what yall think.

I had mine at about 20" and 60% and seemed perfectly fine. You could definitely have both under one light at this point, the second one is probably just adding more light so you may have to move them higher up unless you have a divider. I have like 10 clones I've just taken and 2 small plants(3gal pots) under 1 at the moment(currently set to 100% about 20" above the bigest plant). When they get bigger they should need more light.

18-24 will do you good woth a quantum board... go higher and a bit more power if you need larger area of coverage. otherwise, with small plants, get it closer and save some watts. i usually let the geometry of good coverage dictate how high the light should be. edges and corners will be less, but can even it out a bit and reduce hotspots directly under center of light. that way if you are doing photoperiods, you know you need 150% of current power over 18 hours to provide same amount of energy (DLI) over 12 and no need change distance from canopy. if you are using that light for photoperiods seed-to-harvest, i'd cover all you can while giving 66% power. don't try to fill more than that. otherwise you'll be giving less light to a larger area over 12 hours than you did in vege over 18.. it can turn out fine, but maximizing flower growth is more important than maximizing vege growth, IMO. Set to 66^ and adjust light height until growth is what you want --- use internode length to guide adjustments. (internode = length of stem between two growth nodes). How is it stretching? need more or less? adjust height. Find that sweet spot and you'll get that same type of response from plant in flower, but for buds.

24" is a good height. If your light has a dimmer you can set it to 50% 24" is the standard light height for young tender seedlings. Just keep an eye on them as you might need to adjust the light if they are getting stretchy.

You can likely use 1 light for both at this stage. Depending on how intense you have it turned up will play a role in distance. I think they do a little better farther away then recommend. I woukd do about 30 inches if on full power. You gotta watch how plants respond to light. If they stay short after sprout then light is likely too strong. If they stretch a lot after sprouting then the light is not enough. They will get top heavy and fall over in the second example.
