This week I left the plant alone Monday - Friday besides watering with nutes. Whatever issues there were with vertical growth seemed to be going away because the Rhino Ryder is shooting up. The Hobbit has stopped growing vertically but the stems are strong and the plant is dense. Saturday I decided to pull them out and lollipop them lightly. I don't want to go too hard early and stunt development. I also did very light defoliating after some LST. The Hobbit really needed the LST as light wasn't penetrating the canopy. I wanted to spread the branches and open the plant up overall. The Rhino Ryder was more about keeping an even canopy and breaking that center dominance, which seems to be working. The aroma is starting to come in heavier. Pulling the plants out to work on them made my entire place smell. It does seem like the Hobbit is ahead of the Rhino Ryder, so I decided to shift it to Mid-Flower nutrient schedule just in case.
Nice tote man! Just saw your post on reddit. I was also conserned about hight, that is why I wanted a bucket, they are easier to stack. But totes give more width to work with.
Good luck and keep it up!
@CloudSlappy, I can emanate that's a pain in the ass! Luckily it's a joy to work on and expand spacebuckets with new features 😁 keep us updated on your setup, very interesting stuff!
@Trainrails,Thanks! I will definitely be adding a scrog. If I can keep the height to 1/2 the bottom tote then height won't be an issue at all. The bigger problem with height is the difference between the two plants and having the lights at a height that makes sense for both. I may put all the lights on a rail system that would allow for adjustable height of the quantum boards while keeping the cob centered.
@HighTV, Yea they are both getting pretty full. I'm starting to finally see some vertical growth, but nothing explosive. I'm hoping to get at least 2' tall.
