SATURDAY - DEFOLIATE
This week has been about letting the plants grow and do their thing. I did some light defoliating everytime I watered (maybe 4-5 fan leaves). Saturday was a major defoliating to open the canopy up and get some more light penetration. This is the last defoliation for the Hobbit which is definitely ahead of the Rhino Ryder in flower. The buds are coming in nicely with a ton of colas all around. The Rhino Ryder got a major defoliation as the canopy has really exploded this week. It's also grown quite a bit. My hope is that it's done growing. I have been LST-ing to make sure it doesn't get too tall. The leaves at the top on it were starting to close up a little with the addition of the new light and growth, so I moved the lights up a little and pulled the tops down a little. Since I did this on Thursday the plant has gone back to normal.
Nice tote man! Just saw your post on reddit. I was also conserned about hight, that is why I wanted a bucket, they are easier to stack. But totes give more width to work with.
Good luck and keep it up!
@CloudSlappy, I can emanate that's a pain in the ass! Luckily it's a joy to work on and expand spacebuckets with new features 😁 keep us updated on your setup, very interesting stuff!
@Trainrails,Thanks! I will definitely be adding a scrog. If I can keep the height to 1/2 the bottom tote then height won't be an issue at all. The bigger problem with height is the difference between the two plants and having the lights at a height that makes sense for both. I may put all the lights on a rail system that would allow for adjustable height of the quantum boards while keeping the cob centered.
@HighTV, Yea they are both getting pretty full. I'm starting to finally see some vertical growth, but nothing explosive. I'm hoping to get at least 2' tall.
