Switched Hobbit to late-flower nutrient schedule. It was a mostly uneventful week for this plant. Feedings were normal except for the switch in stages. On Saturday I decided it would be good to pull the plant out and check the lower plant. I haven't really touched the plant besides watering and of course that was a small mistake. I noticed that the plant's foliage was DENSE. It seemed like air wasn't circulating as well as it should be. Everything below the top canopy just wasn't fully developed. So I pulled all the LST and started defoliating. The plant opened up quite a bit. I will keep an eye on it over the next few days to see what happens.
Switched Rhino Ryder to mid-flower nutrient schedule. The thirst of this plant continues but seems to have topped out. I am sticking with 1 Gallon of water/nutes everyday. I also noticed some of the top buds were getting close to the lights with the sugar leaves curling up on the tips a bit. So I lifted the light up a bit. I also pulled the plant out on Saturday and did another big defoliation as the fan leaves keep coming and getting huge. The buds are really starting to come in so I wanted to make sure the lower buds are getting the light they need.
Two things came up with my grow setup this week.
1. I added another Axial fan to keep the air circulating low in the space tote. This brought my temperature down 4 degrees. I put it on a speed controller and set it to half speed.
2. My LED side light strip broke. I will be replacing that ASAP and probably adding a second strip.
Nice tote man! Just saw your post on reddit. I was also conserned about hight, that is why I wanted a bucket, they are easier to stack. But totes give more width to work with.
Good luck and keep it up!
@CloudSlappy, I can emanate that's a pain in the ass! Luckily it's a joy to work on and expand spacebuckets with new features 😁 keep us updated on your setup, very interesting stuff!
@Trainrails,Thanks! I will definitely be adding a scrog. If I can keep the height to 1/2 the bottom tote then height won't be an issue at all. The bigger problem with height is the difference between the two plants and having the lights at a height that makes sense for both. I may put all the lights on a rail system that would allow for adjustable height of the quantum boards while keeping the cob centered.
@HighTV, Yea they are both getting pretty full. I'm starting to finally see some vertical growth, but nothing explosive. I'm hoping to get at least 2' tall.
