Hi Guys! First grow here. I want to start out with about 2-3 plants in a 2x2 tent running hydro (3.5gal.) I'm torn between the Spider Farmer SF1000 or the Mars Hydro TS1000. Do you guys think that would be enough for my setup? I'd like to hear your thoughts! Thank you. Cheers!

They're both very similar, almost identical. But I'd go with the spider, they've got the dimming switch right on there, can connect several lights together if you ever decide to expand, and their "waterproofing" is more durable. My mars runs much warmer than my other lights .

I’m running a mars ts 600 in my 2x2 for veg and it does get pretty warm , on hot days I need to open the tent to vent out all the extra heat with exhaust fan running on the 5th speed . If the spider runs cooler I say go for it 👌🏾

Qantum boards need a fan blowing on top to get the ~2.7umol/J advertised efficacy, otherwise the fixture itself is a bit warm. which is important for re-cooping the extra cost of buying them. They will be cheaper over the lifetime one way or another and provide more photons per m^2. (the SF with Samsung LM301B diodes or LM301H - same exact thing, don't pay extra for an "H").

If I had to pick I'd go spider. I heard the hydros run warm. But haven't heard many bad things about the farmers.
