Trimming

Vindollar
Vindollarstarted grow question 3 years ago
Should I trim off the sun leaves since my plant is so frickin dense. I’m assuming that the light isn’t making its way down enough. I just don’t want to cut off something that could hurt my growth.

So, you can HOWEVER you must note that anytime something is cut from the plant, it will cause stress. And yes they wont grow any more leaves once flipped to flower. People do some extreme training with their plants. Sometimes trimming them down to just a few leaves when doing HST and LST but this is done in mid veg. At this stage if I were in your shoes and if the plants in flower, I would only remove fan leaves that are blocking primary bud sites. This will for sure increase yields. If this plant is NOT in flower and is in veg, I would not take any of the leaves off but address the Magnesium deficiencies first. Leaves showing deficiencies can help with telling you if you've fixed the problem or if its still progressing. I would look into calmag deficiencies, that will effect your flowering more than the leaves will. Good luck man!

You are tallking about "light Pentration" (PPD) In removing fan leaves -remove just the fan leaves that are blocking light to yur bud sites - don't wrry your plant will look like shit and very poor BUT it will grow its-self out-of it ( takes about 1 week for the plant to getlooking good - this will add a week to your growth. Many defoliated once in week 4 of veg and week 4 of flower - A Heavy defoliation -

I would do a selective trimming she won't produce many more leaves if she is flowering. She needs to be bent at a angle to let light in as well. Your scrog net looks like it was too low or not used to spread out plant as it grew. Good luck and happy growing 🌱
