T5 distance from plant (max)

Question about lighting grow room: What is the max distance that I can keep my 400W T5 grow light from the tops of each plant? My goal is to move the light higher up to maximize the surface area covered by the light, but not so much so that the plant is starved for light.

Download a light meter app for your phone this is honestly the best way to tell. It can be quite intense directly underneath and very weak on the sides.. Because every set up is different it's better to just use a light meter and know for sure.. If you search for recommended lux for cannabis there is quite a bit of info and you'll get an idea of what they really need for flower. I hope this helps... I did my big tent scrog with the idea of trying to maximize space for growth..

T5s are generally quite cool light so 10-18 inches for seedlings 5-10 inches for flowering should do the trick. Just put your hand under where the plants are and it should not feel the heat. 🌱👍

I wouldn’t move it higher than around 18 inches. My plants growth seems to become stunted when I move the light any farther away from that. Give that a go and just keep and eye on them the next few days, making sure they are not stretching for it, or growing toward the left or right toward the light.

light schedule change I wanna change light schedule for my babies.. for now they run from 07 to 24 hours and I want to run from 18 to 12 hours so I would have dark period during day.. should I just leave it to run for 30 hours and then introduce new "night" time?? Plug timer running fast My plug timeris running about 10 fast each 24hr. And is now at about 2 hours past the actual time. This causes the light cycle to shift forward slightly everyday. Should I set it back to the correct time, leave it be or buy a new one? It is plugged vertically in wall socket.
