November 1, 2023 Day 57 A new week in flower and lots of measurements to take. This week will focus on watering and maintenance. Not much else to be honest. Strawberry Gorilla Number 1: Height: 14" DLI: 43 mol/m²/d This lady is looking good. Great bud production. Nice and dense already and plenty of stacky stacks. She has definitely finished her lack of stretch. I still think it was the light intensity. Not enough. Or something. Orrr, this strain really doesn't take well to tie downs in the traditional way. I think if I trained the plants up and out, I wouldn't have this problem. Instead, I tied them way down and maybe they don't like that. I just don't get it. She's drinking about a quarter gallon a day and the Bottom Feed System is still working in full force. I decided to top it off with the rest of the half gallon I topped off the other day. Strawberry Gorilla Number 2: Height: 16" DLI: 42 mol/m²/d This is the shortest plant of the bunch and the smallest. She almost looks stunted, but she has these 2 shoots that are still growing for the most part. They are nearly towering over the rest of the plant. She's also taking in about a quarter gallon a day. She was also topped off today with the remainder of the half gallon from the other day. Gorilla Cookies Number 1: Height: 28" DLI: 41 mol/m²/d This lady has definitely finished stretching and is building buds fully now. She has some fantastic stacking going on. 4 colas are super tall compared to the rest of the plant. However, I noticed that there aren't any trichomes yet. I read that this strain does that. Late trichome production? Either way, the buds are everywhere. No water needed today. She has about a half gallon or so left in the reservoir. Gorilla Cookies Number 2: Height: 29" DLI: 45 mol/m²/d This is the golden child all the way. She's stretching like mad now and grew a good 3" last night. She's still in the veg stage and barely in pre-flower. It's very strange. It's like she is ready for flowering, but isn't progressing to that stage. Kinda like what a photoperiod would do. It's a seriously long time for an autoflower in veg. 8 weeks? That's a long time. Anyway, she got a full gallon top feed with the nutrients and recharge. I also refilled the completely dry reservoir. Unfortunately, I forgot to clean it out before refilling. I'll have to do that when the reservoir empties out again. It should be around the same time as the other 3, so hopefully I'll be able clean all of the reservoirs at the same time. Update: I was further observing the growth and height of Gorilla Cookies 2 and decided a ScROG net was in order. This should hopefully train the plant to stay at 30" tall. Not to mention the amount of extra tops that are going to pop up. I guess there's a first time for everything. My first time using a net. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.0° RH: 55.6% VPD: 1.25 kPa November 2, 2023 Day 1 of the ScrOG net. So far I think I'm doing it right. Tuck the tops down as they grow over the net. Simple. No watering needed today. Strawberry Gorilla: Number 1 is looking really nice. Tons of bud sites and beautiful colas forming. They are small but look dense already. I can't wait to see big they end up. Number 2 is showing the same amount of bud sites and colas. Looking absolutely healthy and strong branches. These 2 shoots that are now towering over the rest of the plant seem to have stopped growing now. Buds are starting to form pretty nicely. I really need to figure out how to lift her up more. I ran out of stackable items. I definitely need to find something. Gorilla Cookies: Number 1 is looking great. Her main canopy is now too low. I need to lift this one up as well. However, she has amazing bud production. Not as big as the Strawberry Gorillas buds. Not yet at least. I'm expecting to see some impressive colas out of her and some fantastic colors. Number 2 is just... Wow... She stretched right over the ScrOG net overnight. Some of the outside branches won't go under the net, so they are re a bit longer than the rest. I'll try to do my best and get them under there. But I don't think there is space. The canopy is completely full. With the massive leaves everywhere and the abundance of tops popping up. She goes through close to a half gallon of water a day. Thirsty, hungry and happy as can be. Update: so I was defoliating my overflow tent today and I decided to check the leaf coverage on these ladies. Now that they are in week 2 of flower, I figured a light defoliation was in order. All but the Gorilla Cookies 2 got a nice haircut. Not too much though. Gorilla Cookies 2 will be getting a haircut on the second week of flower as well. Who knows when she will get there. Anyway, so they got outside and inside defoliation. Outside to open up more space for outer buds that would otherwise be completely covered. The inside of the Strawberry Gorillas was a bit chaotic. Leaves going every which way. Overlapping each other and other branches. It was a bit of a mess for both of them. Still kind of is, but they are cleared enough to my liking. From here on out, it will be selective leaf removal. Maybe a couple here and there as the buds start to swell and overtake the whole plant. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.4° RH: 55.4% VPD: 1.31 kPa November 3, 2023 Strawberry Gorilla: Both ladies got top feedings today. Number 1 got a whole gallon while Number 2 got a half gallon. I decided to use recharge for just top feeding. It's a bit too gunky for the wick system. So I will be top feeding once a week with recharge and the reservoirs will get nutes without recharge. It should be more efficient this way. Number 1 looks really nice. Buds are starting swell really nicely. And I mean all of them. It's a beautiful site to see. Still having trouble keeping up with the canopy now. I have a. 5 gallon bucket I can use for one of them, but I don't think the canopy is high enough for that. Number 2... Small. Too small. Lots of fat buds everywhere on the plant, but still too small. Like a dwarf and I have no idea why except for the possibility of the lighting. Gorilla Cookies: Number 1 got a gallon of top feed with recharge. She will need a reservoir refill at some point today as well. Great bud structure and a ton of them all up and down the whole plant. I have side branches that are absolutely covered top to bottom with bud the very top colas have a bit more internodal spacing. Number 2 got just a reservoir refill today. No recharge as it was already fed from the top feed 2 days ago. She will get another top feeding at the start of next week. She has an absolutely full canopy of tops. Her leaves are still super healthy and she is loving life. She has more pistils coming out, or has them now at least. I'm still not sure if this is the start of the flowering stage or she is prepping to be switched. I can't tell. Only the 8 week veg time. Anyway, even the lower part of the canopy is growing strong. I may pop off a couple of the lowest branches. They just aren't going to make it at all. Completely covered by either the side of the tent or under not only this canopy, but also under Strawberry Gorilla 1. Granted she is completely overtaking that poor plant, but she still has branches lower and under both canopies. I took off a couple leaves from each plant today. Even Gorilla Cookies 2 had a few of the lower leaves removed. Also, I got my replacement light 2 days ago. It seems to be working slightly better than the other one. Honestly I won't know until the next grow because it's not the flowering I'm concerned about, it was the veg stage I was concerned with. But as for Gorilla Cookies 2, she is growing super strong, so maybe the light is working better. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.5° RH: 55.3% VPD: 1.32 kPa November 4, 2023 Not much to do today. Just make some observations. I should also add that I check for bugs and issues every couple of days. But I have an extremely clean room so there is little chance of anything nefarious getting in. Not to mention there is an air purifier running at all times in the tent. So now that autumn has finally started, it's cool and dry enough to keep a near perfect environment in the tent. Even the fact that it's rainy and kind of warm today, the temp and RH are steady. Strawberry Gorilla: Number 1 is developing some nice buds. One thing I noticed is the abundance of orange pistils. Kind of concerning as the buds aren't even close to being big enough. But there's also purple coming through with no signs of senescence in sight. So maybe they will swell really fast in the weeks to come. Number 2 is also showing orange pistils, but not as many as Number 1. She also has some fat buds coming in, but again, they aren't big. So I'm hoping for the same swelling in the weeks to come. Anyway, the 2 branches that came out of nowhere have stopped growing. Overall, this plant is stunted I think. Definitely not genetics. I'll have to pick up some more of these seeds and try again some other time. Either way, I'll still take care of her until harvest. Gorilla Cookies: Number 1 is really starting to pack on the buds. The whole plant is starting to plump up and with these colas being super long, I cannot wait to see how this turns out. Number 2 needed a reservoir refill today. Nearly dried out. So a full gallon went in. She's plenty moist, so I caught it at the perfect moment. Again, forgot to clean it out. Cheers to a messed up memory. Well, she's drinking super fast, so I shouldn't have a problem waiting for the next dry out. Not sure how I'm going to do that now with the SCroG net in place. 🤔🤔 I may have to lift the net up and pull her out. I feel like this is not a good idea. I may just have to deal with it. Thankfully, the system is nearly sealed, so I'm only worried about nutrient build up. Well damn. Anyway, she is stretching pretty rapidly now and if she keeps this up for the next 2 weeks, the tent will be overtaken. And I would have to learn how to super crop. Lol. So now I have the issue of size. This is a good issue, but an issue nonetheless. She's completely covering parts of both Strawberry Gorilla 1 and Gorilla Cookies 1. Basically, she has fully filled up her corner of the tent. She's not enormous, but full and lush with an impressive mass. Kind of compact even though she is big. Tons of tops. And she finally is in pre-flower. I don't expect it to last more than a few days, but whatever she does will be plenty to fill up the tent. Then I can finally remove the largest leaves within the plant. There's enough to block a lot of bud sites. Update: I was looking to see what else I could use to lift up the Strawberry Gorillas and while doing so, I noticed a decent amount of auxiliary branches that were just too small on Gorilla Cookies 2. So I took them off. It was about 5. Then some lower new growth and a couple of the lowest hanging large fan leaves. I know I said I wasn't going to, but I felt it was a good time. Plus I want to remove as little as possible during flowering. Even less right now. There are still a few more of those auxiliary branches, but I think I'll leave them to see what they do when flowering starts. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.5° RH: 56.9% VPD: 1.23 kPa November 5, 2023 Kind of a busy day for these ladies. They got moved, one got a reservoir top off, lifted up and overall readjusted. I had to drop the Grow light power down to 60% Strawberry Gorilla: I was finally able to lift these two up to canopy level with five gallon buckets. To do so, I had to lift the SCroG net up a few inches, it that's fine. Worked out quite nicely. Now they are level with the canopy... For now at least. I also flipped them around so number 1 is up front and number 2 is in the back. I did this because of the limited space in the back corner. So I put the smallest plant in the smallest place. Number 1, being at the front, has filled the whole space up. The good part is that it's no longer being overshadowed by Gorilla Cookies 2. She looks really good with dense buds. Not fat yet, but dense and cone shaped. Number 2 looks completely invisible in her back little corner. She isn't quite at the full canopy height, but it's as good as I can get. Still almost there. She also doesn't need as much water as Number 1 so being in the back makes even more sense. Less moving things. Gorilla Cookies: Number 1 got a lift as well. Now she is perfectly level with the canopy. The taller colas are also on the outside so the light isn't as bright as it would be directly under. Should be able to avoid light burn if that becomes an issue. Number 2 is an absolute beast. She is stretching and stretching and I have no idea how tall she will end up getting. When I lifted the net, she kind of straightened out a bit. As for pre-flower, she's near the end and just about to flower. Should be tomorrow or the next day. I'm guessing by her size and rate of growth, she will take at least 7 weeks to finish up. That is quite a bit of time for her, but I'm not worried at all. The yield will be super impressive. I pulled 6.5 oz out of a Zkittlez, and by the health and growth of this one, I can tell the buds are going to swell and pack on maximum weight. So being a massive producer, I'm guessing 8 oz. High hopes, I know. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.4° RH: 59.1% VPD: 1.18 kPa November 6, 2023 Strawberry Gorilla: Number 1 got a reservoir cleaning and fresh nutrients. Her buds are starting to swell and look great. Not a bad little plant. Number 2 is starting to swell as well. She still has a half gallon of nutrients left, so I'll be waiting until it empties before cleaning and refilling. I may try to match what's left in number 1 reservoir. So if there is a half gallon left that's what I will fill up to. Gorilla Cookies: Number 1 looks fantastic. Her buds are swelling she is happy and had a reservoir cleaning and fresh nutrients. She's a tiny bit light, so I'll keep an eye. But I plan on running a full top feed at the start of next week. Number 2 looks absolutely amazing. She finally hit flower, or is at the very end of pre-flower. Either way, she will start flowering any day now. She's stretching and stacking bud sites. Her moisture level has stayed at 43% saturation. However, she will get a top feeding at the start of next week. Just to a bit of runoff. I removed a couple of the lowest branches today. They were so low that they were buried under leaves and other bud sites. So they had to go. Just 2 and a couple of leaves that were too low. Update: I pulled a couple leaves off of Strawberry Gorilla 1. Just a couple. And I finally decided to take some big leaves off of Gorilla Cookies 2. I took mostly lower and middle massive leaves off and a few big ones up top to free up possible tops. There is so much more. I'll go back in a day or two and snip out what else I can without stressing the plant. If I need to do it I. Sessions, I'll wait for the final defoliation for the second week of flower when the stretch has finished up. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.1° RH: 58.0% VPD: 1.18 kPa November 7, 2023 Last day of week 8 and we are looking good. Tomorrow everyone will be getting a top feeding with recharge in the nutrients. Nothing much to do today. So as I have been watching and observing these plants, there will most certainly be a staggered harvest. The two Strawberry Gorillas will be the first to go, then Gorilla Cookies 1 and at that point, Gorilla Cookies 2 will have the tent all to herself. That will give me plenty of space to spread the branches out and totally open the canopy all the way down. Perfect timing as that should be when the buds start to swell. About 2 to 3 weeks. One thing I will have to do, which isn't a big deal, is swap the two plants in the drying tent with the harvested Strawberry Gorillas. Those will then go in the main tent and be harvested around the same time as Gorilla Cookies 1. Hopefully if everything works out properly, there should be about a week and half time difference. So when the Strawberry Gorillas are finished up with drying, the three other plants will be ready for harvest. Then I have to figure out how to put all three in a 2x2 dry tent. Maybe my drying rack? I have a hanging rack as well. Maybe I can make a thing. Strawberry Gorilla: Number 1 had a couple leaves snipped off. The amount of frosty trichomes on this plant is ridiculous. Almost every leaf is covered as well. Just a couple of the larger fan leaves don't have any. I think I may take those off in a day or two. Just to have a cleaner canopy and less foliage. Even the trichomes on the bottom side of the leaves are thick and super frosty. The aroma is also starting to come through quite nicely. I'm a bit surprised it's not a stronger scent, but it's still early in flower. Still a good 3 weeks left. Number 2 is my little runt. She got a reservoir top off today. Her bud production is pretty good. However, the buds look small. Fairly dense. Anyway, I hope she packs a punch to make up for the dismal yield. Gorilla Cookies: Number 1 looks great! Her bud production is fantastic. Getting fatter by the day. Soon enough they will all connect and make thick strong colas. Number 2 looks absolutely amazing. Now that she is nearly in full flower, her tops are starting to stretch and bud sites are much more noticable. Lots and lots of white pistils coming out. More to come in the future. The humidity is a bit high today. Rainy and kinda warm out. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.7° RH: 57.8% VPD: 1.20 kPa

Did I over water this plant? The other 5 are perfectly fine. Just this one. I may have over watered during the transplant. I'm not sure. Just plain distilled water. Same soil across the board for all plants. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

lokos to be a fiar amount of perlite in your soil. overwatering is easy to avoid with simple good habits when watering. water until entire pot is wet. a little runoff ensures this, but not always necessary. wait for top 1" to dry and repeat. how often you fertilize depends on several factors and preferences. the more often you fertilize the less concentrated it sould be, and vice versa for longer periods of time between fertilization. so, if it is ever droopy after these types of irrigation habits, it's the drainagae quality of your substrate that is the cause of any droopiness or water-related issues. 50/50 is a good mix of perlite to soil. stick in that range and you should never see 'overwatering' while stickign to the above standard operating procedure. if you swithc to coco, only need 30% perlite (or similar drainage amendment) if you stick to those ratios fo substrate:drainage amendment, it is impossible to overwater. you might over or under fertilize, but it won't be from too much or too little watering. don't ever tell your self "it's all the same" because it isnt each plant is different gentics and potential different reaction to whatever is in the soil... that soil is not 100% homogenous either. always observe and react... cause and effect... feeling it's all the same is irrelevant and tends to interject personal biases into diagnosing problems. regardless, something specific is happening to the plant you observed looking odd. that's all that matters.. identifying and reacting properly. allow a bit more development before transplant for a rootball that is more robust. when you distrub the rootball that is usually the cause of any transplant shock.. not watering it.. you should always water after a transplant to help settle the substrate around it.. make sure you don't have to fill in any chasms if the form. time your transplants as best you can so it isn't 2 irrigations with very little time between. you don't want it to be as dry as a typical wet-dry cycle, so that the substrate will hold together better with enough moisture in it. deviating 1 time from that normal wet-dry cycle (waiting for top 1" to dry before next), is not the end of the world. but don't make a habit of it. also, in a small seedling tray or starter cup etc, you want to irrigate a bit sooner than 1" deep. in general it's anon issue, because by teh time you have to irrigate a recently planted seed, it's got a tap root all the way to bottom of small starter pots. allowing top to dry reduces risks of pathogens and pests. it keeps a good o2 ratio in soil for roots. it promotes deper roots vs superficial roots that are less effective. this simple method of irrigating provides numerous benefits. remember, you don't pick the volume of water needed... that is a recipe for fucking up substrate equilibrium. feel weight of pot when it is time to irrigate. this can be used as a trigger too. If you water at same weight loss, it requires the same volume of water as before. so, you can dial it in and reduce wasted water.

Autos do have a short life span and I noticed my plants lower leaves did this when I saw nothing else wrong with them. I plucked the leaves and continued watching and checking runoff ppms and ph. I grew in coco so ph wasn't my issue I was worried about ppms. Always follow the 10-20% water runoff rule. And make sure they are not 300ppm or more above your input ppms or your over feeding. Or 200ppms or more "less" then your input ppms. Or your under feeding. Environment plays a role so Google a good vpd chart, I use pulse vpd chart. Make sire your in the correct zone for your current stage of growth! I see nothing wrong but lower leaves dying off due to short life span, although a runoff check will tell you if you're deficient or toxic and then we can go from there! Please consider me as the answer to the question so I have a chance to win grower of the month contest 🙏 please and thank you 😊

My 2x2 is starting to crowd. This is driving the RH to over 70%. Should I defoliate to help with crowding and RH? Or should I just leave it alone? RH in lung room is 48% Exhaust fan, high or low with a dehumidifier, doesn't work. What should I do? Defoliate? Thanks! Check diary.

Defoliation can certainly help. Less leaves = less transpiration. Are you keeping your soil really wet? If so water less. Lowering the space temperature will slow down the transpiration rate and will decrease humidity. Not sure what you are using for extraction fan, but it might be wise to just run it constantly, or get a bigger fan that can move that humidity out quickly and keep it in check. Keeping the tent open will certainly lower the humidity, but you'll waste light and release all of the environment. So to recap, Defoliate 50% of your leaves, yes Lower environment temperature (decreases transpiration rate) Don't saturate your soil or leave any water laying around (a big full root zone needs saturation, but if your plants go 4 or more days without watering then reduce your water volume) Invest in a bigger extraction fan

I'm using the AC Infinity SELF-WATERING FABRIC POT BASE. I don't top feed, so does anyone know if I should let the reservoir dry out? Or, because it's a form of hydroponics, do I make sure to keep water in there all the times? Also, should I keep the nutrients constant? Thanks!

In a bottom-feed watering system like the AC Infinity SELF-WATERING FABRIC POT BASE, it's generally beneficial to maintain a consistent moisture level rather than letting the reservoir completely dry out. Here's why: Continuous Moisture: Plants often prefer consistent moisture, and allowing the reservoir to dry out completely may stress the plants. Consistent moisture ensures that plants have access to water and nutrients when needed. Hydroponic-Like System: While it's not a traditional hydroponic system, bottom-feed systems share some characteristics. Maintaining a consistent water level helps provide stability in nutrient availability to the plants. Preventing Stress: Allowing the reservoir to dry out completely can lead to stress for the plants. Inconsistent watering can result in fluctuations in nutrient availability, potentially impacting plant health and growth. Nutrient Consistency: Keeping nutrient levels relatively consistent is advisable. Fluctuations in nutrient concentration can lead to nutrient imbalances, affecting plant development. Regularly monitoring and adjusting nutrient levels based on plant growth stages is a good practice. While maintaining a consistent moisture level is generally beneficial, it's crucial not to overwater. Overwatering can lead to oxygen deprivation in the root zone, potentially causing root issues. Finding the right balance and adjusting based on the specific needs of your plants is key to a successful bottom-feed watering system. Regularly monitoring plant health, nutrient levels, and moisture content will guide your watering practices.

The feeding system your running is probably more efficient on the smaller containers. Add to it the roots have to push to find water then it would be easier in the smaller container. Thus meaning the smaller ones found water first and had a easier time. If I had to guess the bigger ones will catch up, and surpass the smaller ones. Although this is my assumption, I'm not accounting for the phenos. Every strain has multiple phenos. You may plant 10 seeds and have 10 different looking plants. Better breeders get this dialed in, and the phenos are less sporadic. 10 seeds might give you 2 or 3 phenos instead of 10.. Now. With this said I would guess it's the smaller containers allowed the plants to have a steady supply of nutes quicker, if it's not a odd pehno... if so the bigger potted ones should catch up and surpass the little ones. Goodluck. Please consider selecting me as the answer so I can be entered for a chance to win grower of the month contest I would really appreciate your support growmie 😃 🙏

How much if any foliage or stray branches should I remove from the bottom of this plant? She's super healthy so I don't think it will be an issue with stress, but I don't want any undue stress. Should I just leave it? I'd like to avoid popcorn buds all together.

Lower 3rd is a general rule of thumb. I find the best practise is to keep your plant profile low through trellis nets and scrogging them (Screen of Green). I don't understand why people waste time and energy growing a plant 4 feet tall just to have to butcher the lower 3rd to half of the plant. Why did you waste the time and nutrients is what i ask myself? Why not trellis your plant and fill the net 3/4 with tops, then flip to 12/12, and tuck the first week, then allow everything to stretch up, then defoliate and watch your yield be epic, with little plant wasted.

My largest plant just started to flower and is already 9" from the light which is at the top of the tent. It's a 240 watt light board from AC Infinity. I have it set to 60% power. Should I leave it there or should I dial it down? No signs of stress yet. Other plants are shorter.

Your describing a process known as Lolipopping. its good to do on lower bud sites that will not get the same exposure "light and air" as the top buds sites. I've done this on grows where I've used SCROG net and it worked out well. Good Luck!

Got bud rot. So I removed all of it. Should I harvest or wait a couple days to see what the plant does? It was a lot of bud rot. All of one side and most of the bottom of the canopy. Lost a few branches. Sideways pics? Again?

I am sorry my friend but this plant is infected from the inside. Smoking it will cause harm for your health. Better luck next time buddy!

What are the benefits and consequences of defoliating a week before harvest? Is it good or bad? I have tons of foliage up top and need it to go away. It's too late in flower, but a week before will open up the canopy to the lower bud sites. Any and all help is welcome. Thanks!

Haha, love the Cristmas vibe! No there is no need for an aditional defoliation. This will only cause stress and decrease yield! Enjoy your harvest next week buddy! 💚

In regards to a grow question about bottom feeding, I wanted to explain what I know and what I don't know about the bottom feed wicking system I have specifically with autoflowers. For starters the system works best when the 1 gallon reservoir needs to be refilled every couple of days or less. This is usually at the start of flowering when the roots have reached the bottom of the fabric container. No need to worry about the standing water. It'll be gone before anything has a chance to populate it. As for an autoflowers early life, I believe there is a difference here with photos and autos. Photos are generally in veg longer than autos, which means top feeding is a very short venture with autos. I have found that 14 to 20 days of top watering is sufficient. But not a full watering. Just enough to make sure the young plant gets what it needs. The final top watering before the bottom feed is about 1 gallon to 1.5 gallons. This is in both 3 and 5 gallon fabric containers with living soil and not coco. That could be different. It could also be a bit later or earlier based on what the plant wants. As for the bottom watering system, I prime the containers around week 3 by filling the reservoir with a half gallon of water and letting it soak into the soil. It takes about 20 minutes, but works well in the end. By doing this, the water from the bottom will meet up with the watering from the early top feed and by the time they connect the plant is ready for the wicking system. It's like prep work. As for what to expect during the grow, your roots will grow into the wicks. When this happens, I don't recommend lifting the plant from its base. This is where the fill up comes into play. I like to use a one gallon water jug to fill the reservoir. If I had a spout, I think it would be easier. Nothing pressured. Pour the water slowly to help with spillage. I also mix the nutrients right in the water jug. Makes it easier to fill up with an exact gallon. I haven't had much of an issue with salt build up, but I only use a 1/4 to a half dose. I wondered if I should let it dry out, but no. Instead, I use a lower dose of constant nutrients and keep the reservoir from drying out. Clean it every couple weeks and it should be good. A little trick I thought of in hindsight. Cut your wicks a little bit longer so you can make a loose knot to hold them in place. Make sure they are long enough to touch bottom. If I think of anything else I'll add it too. Any questions, please ask.

So this is what AC Infinity says about their Bottom Feed Wicking System. Please refill the basin whenever the water meter reads empty. It is recommended to clean and refill the basin every two weeks to prevent unwanted buildup and further protect against interlocking roots and wick lines. It's best to keep an eye on the meter for the low water reads.

@nonick123, I agree totally. The SCROG is just a backup. Training definitely helps with branch strength. But too heavy buds would be good too.
