Introduction - Week 15 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 100600.36, Another steady week of growing! Wow! Bud growth is starting to get loud! Added another garden yo-yo and did minor defoliation. Overall growth has been quite healthy! Been stoked on the growth of the tallest twin! She's looking nice and healthy and is starting to get a lot taller! Yet aside from the usual waterings, this grow week has been quite uneventful and easy. Expecting to receive the soil moisture sensors soon! Stoked to start logging moisture levels. This data will be essential for dialing in future waterings. Gas profile has me stoked! --- Also buds are just stacking! --- Been hyped over the tall twin over the past week or so as she continues to grow taller! Ooowee! She's also starting to smell quite terpy too! - [16:14]: Checked the soil moisture for both EarthBoxes. --- The soil for the new EarthBox was getting dry (with a reading of 3 out of 10). --- Checked the other side which was about the same (with a reading of 3.1 out of 10). --- The top soil was still looking pretty hydrated on both sides. --- The soil for the original EarthBox was pretty dry on both sides (with a reading of a 2.9 out of 10). --- The top soil was looking drier than the other EarthBox. --- All around moisture levels seem even. --- Going to top water 3 cups for both EarthBoxes. --- Okay time for the weekly set of readings. - [16:25]: Took PPFD readings. --- PPFD readings for the main grow was at 677 μmol/m2/s which gives a DLI of 43.87 mol/m2/d --- PPFD readings for the young plant was at 624 μmol/m2/s which gives a DLI of 40.44 mol/m2/d --- PPFD readings for the twin early bloomer was at 435 μmol/m2/s which gives a DLI of 28.19 mol/m2/d --- PPFD readings for the twin late bloomer was at 505 μmol/m2/s which gives a DLI of 32.72 mol/m2/d --- With a DLI goal of 45 mol/m2/d (which is a PPFD goal of 694 μmol/m2/s) for the taller plants, not going to adjust the PPFD. --- Plants look great and since I'm not supplementing any CO2 this grow, I don't want to max out the daily lighting integral. - [17:01]: Took height readings. --- The original grow was around 17.25" tall. --- The second plant in the original EarthBox was still about 14.5" tall. --- The twin early bloomer was 8.5" tall. --- The twin late bloomer was 14.5" tall! --- The distance between the canopy of the original grow and light was around 17.5" --- The distance between the young plant and the light was around 21.5" --- The distance between the twin early bloomer and the light was around 27.5" --- The distance between the twin late bloomer and the light was around 23.5" --- I may need to start applying a bit of low-stress training on the twin late bloomer. She's getting a bit tall and can be bent over to increase bud sites by expanding the canopy foot print. - [17:28]: Rotated the EarthBox configuration 90 degrees counter clockwise. --- Time to start the feeding! --- Only top watering today. --- Going to increase the watering (3 cups each). - [17:30]: Filled a pitcher with 6 cups of distilled water. --- Added 1/32tsp + 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract --- Added 1/16tsp + 1/32tsp of: ----- BuildABloom ----- Bio-Phos ----- Big 6 Micronutrients [+ Humic Acid] --- Added 1/4tsp + 1/8tsp of: ----- Pure Protein Dry [Organic Fish Aminos] --- Added 1/2tsp + 1/4tsp of: ----- Horticultural Coconut --- Added 1.75mL of Bio-Catalyst Enzyme Elixer --- Added 4.5mL of Yah-Whey --- Mixed the solution and poured half straight into a spray bottle (3cups). --- Set the remaining solution along with the bottle aside for later. - [18:12]: Did a slight defoliation of damaged leaves. --- Did not need to remove that many. Most of the leaves were from the original grow. Also removed one leaf from the tallest of the twins in the second EarthBox. --- Tucked the trimmings under the center of the mulch cover. - [18:21]: Simply misted the top soil of the original EarthBox with the entire bottle of solution (3cups). --- Tried to mist both sides evenly. --- Also sprayed under the mulch cover by lifting it up with one hand while misting with the other. - [18:41]: Rotated the EarthBoxes back to the default configuration. --- Then poured the solution saved from earlier into the spray bottle and misted the top soil of the new EarthBox. --- Also refilled the humidifier with distilled water and Hydrogen Peroxide (~20mL).
