Introduction - Week 02 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 9208.14, Another smooth week of growing! This was a pre-veg week. At the beginning of the week, fed the girls a seedling dosage of organic fertilizer. Since the cover crop did not survive this grow cycle, going to try to grow without it. To maintain soil moisture, been spraying the top soil every other day. Most of all, the higher humidity levels within the tent have been a huge help. Increased the PPFD a bit more by lowering the light. Towards the end of the week, the main stalks of both plants started to green up, but overall still waiting for these girls to start vegging. Not much else to report for this week, onwards to the next! Engage! Both girls are perky and happy! --- The main stalks still haven’t started to thicken up quite yet, but should soon. I hope. - [31:39]: Using a spray bottle, misted each grow bag with 25 sprays of distilled water. --- Mainly focused on the top growth. - [21:43]: Checked the humidifier. --- Tank is about half full. Going to refill anyways. --- Refilled the humidifier with distilled water (~3gal). Day 02 - Tuesday - 03/12/24 - Total Days: 015 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages - Temps: 79.1°F [26.2°C] - Humidity: 73.9% - VPD: 0.87 kPa - Soil %: [40, 31, 31, 35] ----------------------------------- - [16:19]: Evening check. --- Main stalks still have not changed much, but top leaf growth is looking pretty good! --- Going to give a fertilizer feeding! Going with seedling dosages (based on the BuildASoil schedule chart). - [16:28]: Filled a measuring cup with 2 cups of distilled water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] ------ Added 1/32tsp of: --------- Horticultural Aloe --------- Big 6 Micronutrients [+ Humic Acid] ------ Added 1/8tsp of: --------- Mycrobe Complete --------- Pure Protein Dry [Organic Fish Aminos] --- Mixed the solution and poured it straight into a pump sprayer. - [16:37]: Misted the solution onto the top soil of both EarthBoxes. --- Also slightly misted both grow bags. --- Mainly focused on the top soil around each bag. - [16:44]: Checked the humidifier. --- Tank is still pretty full. No need to refill quite yet. - [16:45]: Have to say that the new heater (AC Infinity’s Thermoforge T3), is definitely a game changer! --- Temps have been way more stable, which has made my VPD more stable. --- Also my night to day temp swings are less the 5°F --- In combination with the humidifier (AC Infinity’s Cloudforge T7), I’m now able to grow without the humidity dome! --- Plus this is my first grow cycle in which I have the entire 4x4ft floor space. Very nice! Day 03 - Wednesday - 03/13/24 - Total Days: 016 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages - Temps: 79.2°F [26.2°C] - Humidity: 74.1% - VPD: 0.87 kPa - Soil %: [42, 31, 31, 35] ----------------------------------- - [16:00]: Evening check. --- Ladies are looking quite nice! Leaf growth looks green and perky! --- Main stalks are still look pretty thin. They’re still both pre-vegging. --- At least for me, the first week of veg begins once the main stalk turns green and thickens up. --- Regardless, looking great! - [16:02]: Using premixed CalMag water (1tsp of CaliMagic to 1 gal distilled water), --- Misted the top soil of both grow bags (~35 sprays each). - [16:06]: Checked the humidifier. --- Tank is almost empty! --- Refilled the humidifier with distilled water (~3gal). --- Easy grow day! --- Done! Day 04 - Thursday - 03/14/24 - Total Days: 017 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages - Temps: 79.4°F [26.3°C] - Humidity: 74.0% - VPD: 0.88 kPa - Soil %: [41, 30, 31, 35] ----------------------------------- - [16:00]: Evening check. --- Both girls are still green and looking perky! --- Aside from a slight height difference, both phenos are growing along looking identical. --- So far really liking these genetics! --- Although next time, going to plant a day earlier. Also will start with a higher PPFD. - [16:22]: Took general PPFD readings. --- Both were around 261 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 16.91 mol/m²/d - [16:24]: Decided to increase the PPFD by lowering the light a bit closer. --- Going to try to average around 300 μmol/m²/s --- Made sure to lower the top oscillating fan first (upper right). --- Then, using the ratchet ropes, I gently lowered the FC-6500 closer to the plants. - [16:53]: Took new PPFD readings. --- Both were around 306 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 19.83 mol/m²/d - [17:01]: Took the weekly height and light distance measurements. --- #1 was about 3" tall. --- #2 was about 4" tall. --- #1 was about 38" away from the grow light. --- #2 was about 37" away from the grow light. --- Gonna water in a bit of Recharge! - [17:10]: Using premixed CalMag water (1tsp of CaliMagic to 1 gal distilled water), --- Filled a measuring cup with 2 cups of the solution. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] ------ Added 1/16tsp of Recharge --- Mixed and poured the solution straight into a pump sprayer. --- Misted the top soil of both EarthBoxes (~1 cup each). --- Also misted each grow bag evenly. - [17:21]: Checked the humidifier. --- Tank is just under half full. --- Refilled the humidifier with distilled water (~3gal). Day 06 - Saturday - 03/16/24 - Total Days: 019 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages - Temps: 80.1°F [26.7°C] - Humidity: 69.2% - VPD: 1.08 kPa - Soil %: [41, 30, 32, 35] ----------------------------------- - [20:53]: Evening check. --- Ooo yea! Both ladies are looking very nice! --- Growth is still green and perky! --- As far as grows goes, aside from the lack of cover crop, this grow has gone surprisingly well! --- Don’t frack this up Ensign! - [21:03]: Using premixed CalMag water (1tsp of CaliMagic to 1 gal distilled water), --- Filled a measuring cup with 2 cups of the solution. --- Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Mixed the solution before pouring it straight into a pump sprayer. --- Misted the top soil of both EarthBoxes (~1 cup each). --- Sprayed both growbags evenly. --- Did not wet the top growth, mainly focused on the top soil. --- Nice! --- The main stalks of both plants are turning green! --- For me, this a clear indication that the veg phase is about to begin. --- Hoping to see thickening of the main stalk soon. --- If all goes well, the first week of veg will begin next week. - [21:12]: Checked the humidifier. --- Tank is about half full. Going to refill anyways. --- Refilled the humidifier with distilled water (~1.5gal). --- Been 20 days since the seeds were placed onto the cotton pads and have to say that both ladies are growing along great! --- Ah yea!
