Introduction - Week 25|18 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 9647.73, Another hot yet simple week in the garden! Under the 18/6 light schedule, buds have definitely been ripening up and looking fatter each day! Also the terpenes are starting ramp up and the aroma is getting quite loud! Checked the trichomes again early in the week and decided to harvest next week! Also am going to need to submit my final entry for the GGC2024 event soon! The veg tent has been raging with growth! Been struggling to keep these plants from getting too close to the light. Had to top and super-crop the plants from getting too tall. Oh yea. Two more days until harvest! Set a course Ensign. Maximum warp! Engage! [START OF WEEK 25|18] ========================================================== Garlic Budder #1 - WEEK 25|18 - Full Bloom Wk9 Garlic Budder #2 - WEEK 25|18 - Full Bloom Wk9 Garlic Budder #3 - WEEK 18 - Full Veg Garlic Budder #4 - WEEK 17 - Full Bloom Wk9 08/19/24 → 08/25/24 This Week's Estimated Goals ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DLI: ~26 mol/m²/d PPFD: ~400 μmol/m²/s VPD: ~1.2 kPa This Week's Meter Readings & Averages [Lights On: 16:00 - 10:00] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DLI: 28.58 mol/m²/d PPFD: 441 μmol/m²/s VPD: 1.10 kPa Soil %: [42.0, 44.4, 35.9, 39.4] ========================================================== Day 01 - Monday - 08/19/24 - Total Days: 175 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages [~23:00] - Temps: 88.2°F [31.2°C] - Humidity: 75.4% - VPD: 1.10 kPa - Soil %: [37, 45, 35, 42] ----------------------------------- - [21:19]: Night check on the 4x4 flower tent. --- Hot and humid, but growing along nicely! --- Buds are swelling up quite nicely! Frosty and purple with a definitely fuel-like terpene profile! Wow! --- #4 is looking healthier and the leaf damage has seemed to have stopped. --- The same is noticeable for #2. Most of her leaves are still healthy. Some are even turning purple. Nice! --- The GGC2024 plant is looking pretty burnt, but she is still growing. Buds are noticeably larger, so she seems to be liking the higher humidity levels. - [21:21]: Checked down both fill tubes. --- Both reservoirs were completely dry! - [21:23]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: --- 40% - [CH01 EB1 - Garlic Budder #1] --- 31% - [CH02 EB2 - Garlic Budder #2] --- 35% - [CH03 GFP - Garlic Budder #3] --- 32% - [CH04 FPT - Garlic Budder #4] --- 28% - [CH05 FPT - Garlic Budder #1] --- 29% - [CH06 FPT - Original Garlic Budder #2] --- 31% - [CH07 FPT - Garlic Budder #4] --- 31% - [CH08 SCP - Global Grow Cup 2024 #1] - [21:41]: Using premixed CalMag water (1/4tsp of Lotus Cal/Mag to 1 gal distilled water), --- Poured 2 cups of the solution down EB1’s fill tube. --- Poured 2 cups of the solution down EB2’s fill tube. - [21:45]: Checked on the vegging clones in the 3x3 tent, --- Wow! The veg growth is just out of control! --- These girls have been topped several times and yet continue to explode with growth! --- Solo cups looked great and did not need watering. - [21:49]: Checked the humidifiers. --- Refilled the humidifiers with distilled water as needed. --- Hmm. - [21:52]: Found another malfunctioning soil sensor. Damnit Ensign.. --- This time it was the original #2’s sensor. --- Just like the last one, --- Removed the soil senor and wiped off the soil. --- Then fully disassembled the unit and placed the pieces into a Ziploc bag with a few silica packs. --- I hope this works. Regardless, I have an extra one. But don’t want to use it if I don’t have to. Placed the bag into the tent’s side-pocket pouch for warmth. --- Will check back tomorrow. Day 02 - Tuesday - 08/20/24 - Total Days: 176 ----------------------------------- Daily Averages [~23:00] - Temps: 88.4°F [31.3°C] - Humidity: 75.5% - VPD: 1.11 kPa - Soil %: [39, 45, 36, 42] ----------------------------------- - [18:05]: Night check on the 4x4 flower tent. --- Another toasty night, but growth is growing! --- Buds are just stacking! Ooo yea! --- The GGC2024 plant is also burnt, but she’s still getting larger. Growth can clearly be better, but buds are starting to mature up nicely! Still have no chance at winning, but simply making to harvest will be more than good enough for me! - [18:07]: Checked down both fill tubes. --- Both reservoirs were completely dry! - [18:09]: Checked on the malfunctioning soil sensor. --- Placed the batteries back in. --- Aye nice! The unit seems to be working now! - [18:11] Placed the sensor back into the original #2’s soil. --- So far the last malfunctioning unit has yet to glitch out again. --- Hoping the same for this one. Again, totally my fault so going to keep growing onwards. - [18:12]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: --- 39% - [CH01 EB1 - Garlic Budder #1] --- 31% - [CH02 EB2 - Garlic Budder #2] --- 35% - [CH03 GFP - Garlic Budder #3] --- 26% - [CH04 FPT - Garlic Budder #4] --- 23% - [CH05 FPT - Garlic Budder #1] --- 21% - [CH06 FPT - Original Garlic Budder #2] --- 29% - [CH07 FPT - Garlic Budder #4] --- 26% - [CH08 SCP - Global Grow Cup 2024 #1] - [18:19]: Using premixed CalMag water (1/4tsp of Lotus Cal/Mag to 1 gal distilled water), --- Poured 3 cups of the solution down EB1’s fill tube. --- Poured 2 cups of the solution down EB2’s fill tube. - [18:32]: Filled a pump sprayer with 5 cups of distilled water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto #4’s straw mulch. --- Focused mainly on the straw. - [18:41]: Took the total weight of the GGC2024 (a #1 pheno). --- She weighed 376.8g --- It’s been 3 days since her last watering. --- Going for a dry weight of around 235g before watering back to around 325g --- Time to water! --- While on a scale, --- Gently misted her straw mulch with distilled water. --- Tried to keep the top growth dry. --- Misted 5-10 sprays. Waited a few seconds, then misted again. - [18:49]: Repeated this process until the cup weighed 485.2g --- There was no runoff. --- Marked the watering date on the side of the cup. --- Placed her back into the tent. - [18:53]: Checked on the vegging clones in the 3x3 tent, --- Growth is continuing to stretch upwards! Wow! --- Pretty sure I’m going to need to top again soon. - [18:56]: Took the total weight of an original #2 pheno. --- She weighed 200.8g --- It’s been 5 days since her last watering. --- Time to water! --- While on a scale, --- Gently misted her straw mulch with distilled water. --- Tried to keep the top growth dry. --- Misted 5-10 sprays. Trichomes were looking pretty damn cloudy! Most areas look completely opaque and white a tiny bit of clear. Couldn’t really find any amber trichomes. - [20:05]: As for the #2 pheno, --- Trichomes were similar to #1 with mostly cloudy with some clear. There was also a tiny bit of ambering starting to form. - [20:08]: Last but not least, the #4 pheno, --- Trichomes were mostly cloudy with some clear throughout. No signs of amber trichomes. --- Based on both the trichomes and the locations where there the samples were taken, still planning on harvesting in exactly one week! --- Ah yea! 7 days until harvest! --- If all goes well, next week will be the big harvest week for this grow with the final chop on Tuesday! --- As far as the next grow, been gathering the components for my first scrog grow! --- Recently visited the local home improvement store for 1” PVC piping and corner fittings. Also got some 1” self-drilling screws (wanted stainless steel but could only find zinc which should be fine but may start rusting). Also got a tape measure and a PVC pipe cutter. --- Already received the mason string for the scrog netting via Amazon so should have all I need now to start building! --- Eventually plan to build the scrog frame and will do a test install (have a set of flag-pole clips that I’m hoping to use). --- Getting hyped! --- Maximum warp Ensign! @Lemonhazelover, Thanks buddy! I'm always a bit nervous during the first few weeks after germination. But glad to say that so far so good! 👍

@Golden, Thanks dude! Your plants are looking great as well! Hopefully I'll make it to flower, but going to be vegging for a bit.

Very detailed diary. I like ur heater. Something I don't need but definitely want 1 lol.. Look forward to seen how you adapt this to pushing your grows forward.

@gottagrowsometime, Thanks growmie! Yea, sometimes I can get a bit too detailed, but this is all just for fun! Been using Ac Infinity's Thermoforge T3 heater for just over 2 weeks and have to say that it's the best! Highly recommend! The unit easily heats a 4x4ft grow tent along with my 10x10ft lung room. Keep in mind that it never snows where I live, but it can get pretty cold in the winter (Southern California - US). What's most impressive is that in combination with the Cloudforge T7, my overall weekly VPD averages have been a lot more stable! Also the day to night temp swings have been greatly reduced (less than 10 degrees/percent difference on the weekly temps/RH averages).

I see you're running Build-A-Soil.. Great company, products, ethics! The dude has a sweet youtube channel as well worth checking out if you haven't. Cheers good luck!
