Introduction - Week 13|06 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 9418.52, Pretty smooth week of growing! Been top watering the fabric pots while bottom watering the EarthBoxes. Gave a feeding of microbes, aloe, coconut, and saponins. But the rest has been distilled water only. As far as the 3x3 tent, now have the system fully built and the temperatures and environmental conditions are looking great! Was originally planning on going perpetual this week. However, decided to participate in the ‘Global Grow Cup!’ The event starts next week so why not? Planning to clone pheno #1 and will be giving it a go! Going fully organic so not planning on winning at all (the winners will most likely all be using some sort of nutrient line). Mainly joining for fun. Whatever happens, happens! I’ll be happy if I can just make it to harvest. I’m more stoked about finally going perpetual! Next week officially begins the cloning process! Will also defoliate as well. --- Going to use the propagation tray and will fill it with pre-moistened BuildASoil 3.0 potting soil. --- Since I don’t have any rooting hormone but do have aloe plants, plan to use a piece of aloe. The natural salicylic acid from the aloe should help to promote root growth. --- Then will take cuttings and start cloning away! --- What can possibly go wrong!? Today is the big day! --- Going perpetual! --- The 3x3 veg tent is pretty much fully built. Just need to add some passive vent filters. Will do that a bit later. - [10:20]: Time to plug in and setup the new veg tent’s controller! --- Plugged in the main power cords for everything and made sure the Controller 69 Pro detected each component. --- Also made sure the propagation dome’s controller was plugged in and working. --- Oh and filled the humidifier with distilled water. --- Time to set everything up in the App! - [22:21]: Within the AC Infinity App, --- Installed the new Controller 69 Pro and renamed each one. Will adjust later. --- Temporarily turned the light on to tent the LEDs and to make sure they were all working. - [10:40]: Wow! With the light on, the white floor of the tent looks pretty nice. --- The CloudRay S6 (Version 2) oscillating fan is not connected to any controllers so will have to adjust it manually. Everything seems to be functioning within established parameters and the environment within the tent seems to be stabilizing. --- Going perpetual! --- [*smokes a bowl] - [14:11]: I think I’m going to wait another week before cloning. --- Deciding on participating in the ‘Global Grow Cup’ 2024 competition! --- Since the grow off begins in a few days (grows must begin from June 1-31), might as well give it a try. --- Basically it’s a global solo cup grow off! --- Both seeds and clones are okay. Also both photoperiods and autoflowers are allowed (I’m going to enter a photoperiod clone). --- The maximum size of the container cannot exceed 16oz (which is your standard solo cup size). --- The seed or clone has to be started between June 1st-30th, --- Several YouTube influencers have been promoting this grow off and just thought it might be fun to try! --- Don’t plan on winning at all, but think it will be fun just to participate. I’ll be happy if the plant simply survives through the whole process. Also I’m pretty sure since I’m using organic inputs, my chances are even less in a smaller container (more soil is better for organic growing, I think). --- This will also give the plants another week to get larger before the defoliation/cloning. --- Definitely going to try to clone #1 and #4. Also will be topping for the first time. --- I doubt I’ll be able to clone #2, but if #3 gets bigger, I might be able to take a cutting. Or maybe top? --- Also will give me more time to dial in the 3x3 veg environment. --- Just going to continue to research cloning and prep for the event! Still very impressed with growth! --- Hmm. With the exception of #4, all plant leaves seem to be tacoing a bit. Could be an environmental issue? Or maybe too much wind? Now the cord is facing closer to the vent and the control knob for the light is easier to read. --- Time to add some passive vents. - [19:42]: Made a pair of passive air filters using some 6” ducting, carbon filter material, rubber bands and tape. --- Installed both vents with one on each side (bottom of the tent). --- The new veg tent has been completed and is ready for plants! --- Going to be another week before plants go into this tent. --- Getting hyped! (will send an email asking). --- Also since roots cannot go beyond the container and root pruning is an immediate disqualification, I figure transplanting would be a good way to go. Have not been logging, but been training and bonsaiing the new growth to keep them low. They also seemed to have updated the site with additional submission rules which includes the mentioning of transplants along with the order number. --- Now that I’m a participant, there are two submissions that I need to do before the 30th of this month! --- Need to make a video confirming that my container is 16oz. Since I’m growing in a solo cup, this should not be an issue. Going to film myself filling a marked cup with 2 cups of soil.
